Greg Specht, PT,
OCS, ATC, CSCS
Owner and Clinical Director
As a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in
Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Mr. Specht is recognized as an
expert specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal, orthopedic
and spinal conditions. Nationwide, only a small percentage
of therapists successfully complete the coursework and pass
the examination necessary to attain this credential. Greg
accomplished his goal of becoming board certified in 1996,
and he has devoted the past 16 years of his career to treating
and caring for injured people.
Mr. Specht holds an undergraduate degree in
physical therapy from Northeastern University and has completed
the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the American Sports
Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. Greg holds additional
certifications, as an Athletic Trainer with the National Athletic
Trainers Association, and as a Strength & Conditioning
Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
Furthermore, Greg continues to expand his knowledge base by
attending educational seminars and courses regularly.
Prior to opening Specht Physical Therapy, Mr.
Specht served as the Director of Physical Therapy at the Rhode
Island Rehabilitation Institute, in Warren, Rhode Island;
and he has worked for Brown University as an Athletic Trainer.
Mr. Specht is licensed
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is an active member
of a number of organizations including the American Physical
Therapy Association's Orthopedic and Private Practice Sections,
American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists,
National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Athletic
Trainers Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Finally, he has served as a Clinical Instructor for the physical
therapy programs of Northeastern University, Simmons College,
University of Rhode Island and The Finch University of Health
Sciences, to name a few.
Mr. Specht's commitment to advanced training,
and excellence in patient care, coupled with 16 years of clinical
practice enables him to ensure that patients receive the best
possible treatment.

Mike King, MPT
Mr. King completed his undergraduate
education at Springfield College in 1997 where he received
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Services; and
in 2001 he was awarded a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Mr. King has an excellent background in the management of
orthopedic injuries and post-surgical conditions from his
experience as Head Physical Therapist at Fall River Physical
Therapy. Mike has made numerous contributions to his community,
through volunteer efforts with organizations such as SERVE
New England and the Boston Marathon Wheelchair Sweep Team.
Mr. King joined the Specht Physical Therapy
team in April of 2005. He is licensed
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has a special interest
in treatment of sports related injuries as he remains competitive
as a pitcher in a local men's baseball league.

Gregory
P. Vescera, BS, MPT
Mr. Vescera Graduated with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in biology and subsequently earned a Master’s
degree in Physical Therapy from American International College
in Springfield Massachusetts. Mr. Vescera is a manual therapist
specializing in orthopedics with skills in post-surgical care,
maternity related low back pain, headaches, TMJ dysfunction,
neurology and vestibular rehabilitation. A native of Pawtucket,
Rhode Island and in practice since 2004; Mr. Vescera joined
Specht Physical Therapy in November 2007 and is licensed
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As an avid golfer, participant
in flag football leagues, weight training and cardiovascular
fitness Mr. Vescera knows well the value of physical therapy
to enable you to live the healthiest, fittest lifestyle possible.

Zachary
Pereira, MSPT, CSCS
Mr. Pereira obtained his Masters in Physical
Therapy from Springfield College in 2007 and joined the Specht
Physical Therapy staff in July 2009 and is licensed
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In his last position
Zach was the manager of a work hardening facility at the Donley
Center in Providence, RI where he specialized in evaluating
patients with the Functional
Movement Screen. From this experience, along with his
diverse internship experiences, Zach has developed outstanding
skills in neck and back treatment, ergonomics, orthopedics,
geriatrics and neurological rehab. Additionally, Zach is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) and
a former collegiate soccer player, making him uniquely qualified
to work with athletes of all ages and abilities.
Beth Gouveia,
Office Manager
Ms. Gouveia received her Certificate
as a Medical Assistant from the Sawyer School in 1997. She
is certified as a Nursing Assistant and is also a Notary Public.
Beth has been with Specht Physical Therapy since its inception
in 2001 and is in charge of all business and insurance related
issues of the practice.
Rebecca Manning,
Administrative Assistant
Ms. Manning received her Certificate
as a Medical Administrative Assistant from the Career Education
Institute in 2004. Rebecca joined Specht Physical Therapy
in 2005 and has quickly become an integral part of the practice
as she handles numerous tasks including scheduling and insurance
authorizations.
Britany
Durette, Office Assistant
Britany joined Specht Physical Therapy in August
of 2007 to assist our front desk staff during most afternoons.
Britany now performs many vital tasks in the clinic revolving
around scheduling/confirming appointments and keeping of patient
records. Britany attends college at Rhode Island College and
graduated from Mount Hope High School in Bristol, Rhode Island.
